Bougy problem...
My bouganvillea is putting on alot of new growth and it is getting black spots on it can anyone help.
ok I didnt have the pics ready at first but here they are. Thanks to all for your help!! Greg

Are you keeping them dry?
We had a lil' rain storm here last week, and some of the bark on mine started to turn moldy and black. Didn't have a problem with the leaves though... |

Are you sure it isn't frost damage? Regards, Matt P.S. - A deep frost will kill it entirely.

I see. Well it appears you have a burn. Frost burn, Chemical burn, fertilizer burn, windburn, too close to the sunlamp/radiator burn, but I would guess it's a burn.
I think it is going to have a hard time adapting to warm nights (indoors) and cool days (outdoors) Regards, Matt

this has gotten me puzzled. no chemicals no fertilizers hasnt been in the cold not too much sun not close to a lamp and its only on new growth nothing on the existing and its not all the new growth

It could be some sort of polluant gas in the air (like Sulfur dioxide or ?) which when it comes in contact with water on the leaves forms an acidic substance that can burn the cells of the leaves or petioles.
