I just went to one called Redwood Gardens. It's in Scott's Valley which is just north of Santa Cruz by 5-10 minutes. The owner's name is Flora and she has tons of stuff in all sizes. I got a California Pepper and a vine maple (5 gallon size) and my friend got a couple of oaks and a pyracantha for reasonable pricing. Get the phone number from information before coming so you can have directions. It's right off of 17N on a frontage road and it can be tricky to navigate the road as it crosses over the highway exit. Plan on being there for awhile because you have to walk around the hillside and see it all and also wear good shoes. My friend went in search of blue oak but she didn't have any at the time. If you interested in something special or different, you might give her a call first.

Is that the nursery where everything interesting is marked "Not for Sale?" The one you can see from Highway 17 with the plants lined up along the road? I think the exit was Pasatiempo or something?

Strange place.

Regards,

Matt
