Have you tried Marc Torppa of the Growing Grounds? He is located in Cherryville, NC, very near you and has loads of good plant material.

Call him at 704 445-3009 or visit his website at:

www.growinggrounds.com

However, his internet site does not include all his material. He has superb field-grown material and I got many of his Chinese elms last year for classes.

Don't forget to get some of his new fertilizer MEAN GREEN!

Bill

Brent lists about eight varieties of U. Parvifolia (Chinese elm, including the great catlin variety) for $12 and up. http://evergreengardenworks.com/

You can check out a virtual tour of Brent's place at: http://internetbonsaiclub.org/simpl...d,8055/catid,7/

Hi, Bill...Jay here. Please check the link you offered for Marc's growing grounds.... it comes up as a Dept56 collectabel site.

Will you be bringing any of these elms to the Mid-Atlantic?

Jay

Hi Jay,

Sorry about the web site address for the Growing Grounds. Try this:

http://www.thegrowinggrounds.com/

I got the Chinese elms last year and they are all sold. I used them for a workshop teaching how to drastic prune deciduous material.

Let me know what else you are interested in, perhaps I can bring it to Mid-Atlantic Convention.

Best regards,

Bill

thank you for the replys.

I 'd like to add some Japanese Maples to my collection but here in Greece it is almost impossible to find any.
So I was thinking to go on and order a couple from the internet and see what happens.

regards
Dimitris.
