Ordering trees online
Hi
Has anyone ordered a Bonsai tree from an online nursery ? Do they pack the tree well ? I live in Greece and I would like to order a few trees from nurseries in Europe and the US but I am not sure whether the trees will arrive safely. What do you suggest ? thanks in advance Dimitris

the packing usually isnt graet, but your problem might be with customs.check with them before to see if trees are allowed to be imported.the packing at the nursery isnt the problem, its the couriers who deliver them are.

Dimitris,
One of the wonders of the European Union is that we are now allowed to import/export any native species across national boundaries without needing phytosanitary certificates or customs clearance. Import from the US would be more of a headache. Regards, Fish.

Since I've been having so much trouble finding a Chinese Elm anywhere local, is this good if I live in the US, to purchase off the internet?
Thanks, Exo |

Exo -
Since you're in Charlotte - you should check out Randy Clark's place (Bonsai Learning Center), also located in Charlotte. Website www.bonsailearningcenter.com. I would be very surprised if he did not have something as common as Chinese Elm. He doesn't sell plants mailorder, but the website will give you contact info, and he does have plants at his place. Also classes, tools, etc. Have fun bonsai-ing.

Thanks for the suggestion, just spoke to Randy, the only one he has is a very old one for $250, he says the newer ones for a lower price are really hard to come by, so once again I'm out of luck. *sigh*
Thanks for the help though. ~Exo |

I have used Evergreen Gardenworks twice now, and have been very happy. Their website is very detailed about all of the varieties they sell, including the pitfalls with certain ones. And the trees have all arrived just fine! Nice to work with.
Hope this helps... Joanie |

Evergreengardenworks.com is excellent. Brent Walston, the owner, is a true gem. He will probably have what you're looking for.
