Question New England Bonsai

Hey Everybody,
Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with New England bonsai? I'm thinking of ordering a tree from them and just wanted to see if anyone has anything to say. What I have heard has been all good & they seem to have a lot of nice stuff but looks can be deceiving. My wife & I are driving out there in a couple weeks just to have a look around but I don't want to wait until then in case the tree is gone. I actually can't wait to go because again I've heard all good things. Well any feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanks. -sw

Hi sw (?),

The folks and N.E. Bonsai are super nice. It is a wonderful place to visit and I regard them as among the best bonsai retailers in the country.

By the way, they have hired Kenji Miyata from Japan to be their resident artist beginning early in March. He is going to turn that place into the best nursery in the country, I'm sure. Kenji is the first student of Yasuo Mitsuya (in the Daiju-en "family" - those who win virtually every Kokufu-ten).

Anyway, you won't go wrong in dealing with them.

Kind regards,

New England Bonsai is a great place. I'd recommend a trip there if you're within reasonable distance. The owners will take time to make recommendations about a tree, help you choose a pot, or whatever else you need help with. The selection is really good too.

Why don't you ask them to hold it for you until you get there. If they have a lot of interest, they might deserve a deposit, but somehow, I don't think they will.

They are first-rate.

NE Bonsai is top rate! I spent a week out there last spring and am going to return in 6 weeks for a workshop with Miyata-san. I am flying out for that, but will drive out again in May. It is an 11 hour drive, or 670 miles one way...........well worth it! I have been doing mail order with them for about 9 years, and have never been disappointed. You will be happy when you go.

I was just there 2 weeks ago and yet again as with every other time I have gone there I was very impressed and made to feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend their facility!

Jow,
There are actually 4 bonsai shops here in MA I haven been to all but 1 (pretty far away) I'm sure you will find everything you need at one of them.
BTW are you moving into the city or outside?
