I can vouch for this name and address, it is the same one my bareroot katsura maple was mistakenly sent to by UPS. The same katsura that the person at the house told UPS they never received. Very similar (the grower felt it was the same, just potted up) to the katsura that ended up on ebay a year later by 4yearsclean.

I had no idea so many have had poor experiences with this person. I guess I can be thankful UPS gave me my refund, that's a lot more than some got.

Edit: Joanie removed the address from the original post, so I've removed it from my post. PM if needed.

Thanks for removing his Address Joanie dont want no legal issues

I have it though if anyone needs it. Its funny this guy mentioned that he doesnt have any parents and I personally spoke with his mother on many occasions. I guess that lie # 100. His only motive was financial and he lied and ripped innocent hobbyist off to earn $. As the previous person posted, I think this qualifies as a Felony considering the amt of $ were all quoting.

Its all I have to add to this thread. It was painful to see him sell so many personal trees that Dave of Wabisabi sold him thinking that he would never sell. I am doubtful Dave ever realized that these trees ended up on Ebay.

Its ashame.

Good luck again to everyone who suffered under this mans wrongdoing.

Well, seems CHEF has cooked up a right recipe for disaster.

There are now too many stories that collaborate the nature of his ways and in the best interests of the Bonsai Community, we shall now ban the identity from this site.

As Joanie has stated, the moderators have his details now, so if anyone else has been affected by this individual, then please PM one of us.

Regards,
Ian.

I'm not defending ChefDave, but I am tired of hearing about people selling him trees that "he swore he would never sell". That's crap. Did you sell them to him? If so, they're his to do with as he pleases. Perhaps you all are thinking of renting him trees. That would be different of course.

Well put Zube - well put.

I gotta say I'm kind of going to miss him here and on eBay. He did have some pretty sweet trees that he sold, er scammed, er, I have no idea what he did with them or what happened, sorry. I must admit I was drawn to his postings trying to read the cap lock and no punctuation posts. So in closing :

HEY THERE THIS IS GRAYDON HERE AND I JUST WANTED TO SAY I MISS CHEF DAVE A BIT BUT I AM SORRY YOU PEOPLE LOST MONEY IN SOME SORT OF SCAM OVER STUMPS. SO WAS HE A CHEF OR WAS HE IN AA BECUASE OF THE 4YEARSCLEAN? I GUESS HE COULD NOT MAKE THE FONT BIGGER ON HIS SCREEN. I WAS SAD WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT HE LIVED ON THE STREET AND ONLY CAME HOME FOR FOOD AND STUFF BUT I GUESS THAT WAS NOT THE CASE BECAUSE SOME OF YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO HIS MOM OR SOMEONE THAT SAYS THEY ARE HIS MOM. I REALLY HOPE THIS HAS A GOOD RESOLUTION FOR ALL OF YOU.

Out.

If I had sent an individual money for trees that were never delivered, and he has not provided them, is unresponsive to inquiries, can't explain the non-delivery, and is making up stories, I would pursue him through more than just phone calls and angry posts here.

Accepting money for goods or services, then not providing those goods and services, is fraud...A study in 2006 by the National Consumers League noted that 33 percent of online fraud involved undelivered goods from individuals selling stuff in a variety of places INCLUDING forums...
