Have any of you been there before? What are your experiences and opinions of Bonsai West? Thanks, Anthony

I just know that the lady, Loretta McDonald, who runs www.bonsaiconcepts.ca in Canada used to be the general manager for 4-5 years there at BonsaiWest. She's a good person with knowledge. My guess is that Bonsai West should be the same.

I was amazed at the quality of the trees they had available. This past spring I was again amazed at just how much wonderful stock Michael Levin was able to obtain from his buying trips. And speaking of Michael Levin... I feel he is a greatly under rated bonsai artist with a tremendous amount of knowledge that he is enthusiastic to freely share with his visitors, as do all the staff a Bonsai West. The prices are fair, the stock is great weather you are buying nursery stock, pre-bonsai, or specimen trees. Bonsai West is about a 15-20 minute drive from my house, so needles to say I spend a good amount of time there, and this summer I have visited the shop almost once a week. Free demonstrations and great sales make the visit even more worth while! To sum it up, I am a BIG fan of Bonsai West and always feel welcome when I visit. Hope this helps Adam

AHS Heat Zone: 5 Posts: 647	When I lived in Maine I often travelled down through Massachusetts and usually scheduled a trip to Bonsai West if time allowed. This was the first bonsai nursery I ever visited, and I still remember the wonder I experienced five years ago when I walked around and looked at the trees. A very good place to buy trees, learn, or wander around and study the specimen trees. Craig Cowing NY Zone 5b/6a Sunset 37 __________________ I'm not finished yet, neither are my trees.
