Randy, if I lived a little closer to you, I'd be happy to share some of my own poor stock with you. Have you thought of collecting around your area yourself? I collected alot of seeds and seedlings from around my neighborhood starting about 28 months ago and I'm very pleased with what I find developing. It kind of gave the long walks I've always enjoyed a new purpose.

Thanks Fred. I have not really found a good place to collect yet. I am in a newly developed area. There are a couple preserves around, but have not found out who to ask permission from.

Randy, Don't rule out commercial purchase. Remember the trees sold in garden centers are hardy for your area. Granted that is hardy in the ground in your area, but they would need easy amounts of protection.

There are also the 'True' Bonsai nurseries, being in the Chicago are I'm sure there are some nearby.

Clubs- seek out a club if you have not already done so. At the club you will meet many individuals who will be happy to help.

Robert - I'd suggest you don't post your email address on the forum, but rather encourage people to contact you either by PM or by enabling email in your user options.

You are very likely to get dozens of "spam" emails each day if you post your email address anywhere that is publicly accessible on the Internet.

Regards,

Matt

robert stackpoo, the type of molds I build are plastic injection molds, made of steel. I don't think I would be of much help for a stone lantern, sorry.
