Might be helpful if we knew where you live, in the U.S., what part?

IF you llive in the S.Eastern U.S., you might do better with going to a nursery and buying a bald cypress landscape tree (a smaller one, with about a 2 inch diameter trunk.

If you live in the Northern U.S. you might do better going with a bald cypress. Pond cypress isn't as fast growing or as hardy in those parts, in my experience.

Raw stock prepared for bonsai use can be pretty expensive. Miamitropicalbonsai.com, bonsainorthshore.com have some nice BC stock, but it ain't cheap. Both ship.

Daytonabonsai (member here) has or had pond cypress, and he ships...

Thanks. Actually, both do well here in the southeast. I'm in hot and wet middle Georgia. I often see stands along the highway, but even if I got permission to go after one I don't think I could do it safely because I'm not swamp (pond) prepared. I have tried several nurseries in this area without success, because folks generally want the faster growing bald cypress (taxodium distichum) for landscaping. I already have a couple of those as specimens, and a small forest planting.

I will inquire of Daytonabonsai. Appreciate the help!

If you're after pondies, Miamibonsai has a pretty extensive listing, under specimen "Bald Cypress." Almost all of those look to me to be pond cypress, juding from the leaves...
