There are some unique benefits to free registration. Here are just a few:

The main reason people don't register is they're afraid that their email address will become public. Great news! You can hide your email address from everyone but the admin, if you want, by setting your profile to "Hide E-Mail from public" We recommend that all users do this if they are concerned about spam.

So, you see there is really no reason not to register!
