A note from Bonsaial

Hey, all you bonsaipage dudes, its good to see ya around.

I went to this page after Matt posted the animated wire thingy on the old bonsaipage. I registered here, but no one was posting because the other page was being used so much. Now that its down we can blow the lid off of Chroust's page. i have sent some emails to Matt Chroust the webmaster and he responds very promptly. He has given me URL's for email's to some people I needed for a shohin show, and I thank him for that. It's good to see you guys over here we can get back to buisness!!!

I'm glad you told me about this page. It has already helped me. The Black Pine posting in the gallery has given me an idea for my red pine that I asked you about on the other page

Re: A note from Bonsaial

As I am new at this email thing may I ask the people to put down the state they are from as the information for care in Wisconsin for a willow will be different for me in northern Florida.
We have had a lot of rain and then we have a long dry spell and the trees are having a hard time adjusting. *Is there some thing that I could give them this late in the growing season. *Here the leaves are just starting to turn color.
The trees that are haveing the most problems is my Elms
Thanks * Virginia

Re: A note from Bonsaial

Hi Virginia,

I just added my locale to my signature. Great suggestion. You can reach yours by clicking on the icon way up top.

I'm here in sunny California, but you might try a dose of low-nitrogen fertilizer - 0-10-10 or similar to help promote some root growth.

Be sure if you get a couple days' uninterrupted rain to incline the pots a bit by putting a stone or chunk of something convenient under one edge. _That will help the pots drain.

I'm a little surprised that it's the elms that are giving you trouble. _Elm are pretty tolerant of overwater, in my experience, as compared with some other species. _Our weather here has been "too cool" for the season and some maples have turned already. _September is generally our hottest month.

Regards,
