ATM Submissions Now Accepted

Hello All,

The 1st of June is with us and I am glad to announce that Walter Pall will shortly be able to offer members a "critique" of Advanced Trees in the ATM section. This can be reached from the menu shortcut at the top of your screen.

If you are perhaps new to the forum and not familiar with the operation of the ATM, please take the time to read the introduction on "HOW IT WORKS".

Regular members will know that we have changed the operational style a little. You will need to submit photographs and trees of a certain standard into this section. They will not appear instantly on the forum, since I will be releasing them in a controlled manner to ease the workload on Walter since this is a FREE service he offers in what little spare time he has.

I am sure we will find the ATM a great educational tool for ALL LEVELS of membership and I look forward to receiving your posts in due course.

Best wishes,
Ian.

Well, the weather has been glorious in the UK over the last few days and a "high" of 25 derees C is expected today. Are we about to have a nice summer for a change. Anyways, with all these nice evenings I am sure to find time to set up a semi-formal photo-shoot tonight and FINALLY bag lots of decent pictures of some of my trees. May even find one suitable for Walter to have a critique on.

Hope some other members are having some nicer weather (wherever you are) and are able to join me soon in bumping up the ATM forum again.

Best Regards,
Ian.

Thanks for helping out with this.

Oh, and BTW, Happy Birthday, recently.

One question about ATM. I know it is officially restricted to "advanced material." What about a recently collected tree that has had minimal work done yet? It is definately of a calaber that Mr. Pall would want to work on, but it is not approaching "show quality." Would something like that be approriate for ATM?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the Birthday Greetings. At least I have one day each year when the wife agrees with everything I say and do !!!

Back to reality now !!

With regard to the ATM. Yes, collected trees have a certain amount of maturity about them even with little styling. We are however, trying to attain and maintain a certain standard with submissions and one criteria is that trees should be in at least a Bonsai Pot. (No Ground shots, Training tubs etc..) although I may consider a Mica pot to be acceptable in this case.

But then, we would not enter them in shows would we. What do the other members think about Mica being allowed in the ATM ??

Having said that, Walters advice on the future development of such Trees would be invaluable, so I will leave it to you to decide.

If you are in any doubt, post it to the ATM anyway, and I will move it to Show and Tell, if I deem that more suitable.

Please remember - any post in ATM, will not show at first till I have reviewed it and accepted it onto the forum.

Hope that helps.
All the best,

Ian.

ATM Update.

Hello All,

Just a note to you all that myself and Walter are aware of.

If you submit to the ATM, and I then list it on the forums say 5 days later, the system defaults to the time of your original post 5 days before.

You will not then see the submission as a "New Post", but ranked in order that the post fills in relation to any other replies within the ATM.

Hence, do not think it is taking Walter this long to see your tree, rather it is merely the time your original post has been "in the queue" and you will need to allow further time for him to work on a suitable reply.

Thanks,
Ian.
