Is there a Doctor in the house?

OK - i need a doctor in the house please!!

1. What kind of bonsai do you have and how long have you had it?
Wild Olive bonsai and had it since September.

2. Where did you get it, and what was its condition at the time you acquired it?
Got it from a bonsai Nursery, it was stock and in good condition and slightly worked on to give it some basic starting shape.

3. When did you notice the problem?
a few weeks ago but not as bad as it is now.

4. How have you been watering it and how frequently?
This may be the problem, water it every day (summer here). either with sprayer or with a watering jug.

5. What region are you located geographically and where are you keeping your tree, indoors or out, full sun, part sun, shade?
Hard question. Cape Town, SA!?! Half day - full sun. In the actual garden with trees for half day shade. Protected from wind.

6. Does the soil have any unpleasant odor?
No

7. When was the tree last repotted?
Begining of September into a training pot from a nursery bag.

8. Is there any discoloration of the foliage? Would you describe it as turgid and green, dry and brown, wilting, mottled or partially eaten? If you brush the foliage with a fingertip, does it fall off?
foliage is mostly green, but some of the leaves are turning bright yellow, not falling off but easy to pick off. cant say they are mottled. New leaves are a bright green. very young olive still.

9. Is there evidence of pests, like ants or aphids?
there were a lot of ants around all my new plants recently and 2 days ago it looked like there may be aphids eating my chinease elm. something is stripping the bark off over time or getting under the bark that it is falling off in pieces. By the way the elm is 8 years old, broomstyle. had it since August. Say a small beige/ off white 2mm long bug on the elm. was running around soil. there also appear to be small brown lumps appearing on the elm trunk. Think i have 2 problems here. one for the olive and one on the elm.

10. Can you post a picture of your tree to the forum?
No unfortunately, guess i should invest in a digicam.

Not a Dr. here, but:

Brown lumps on the elm might be scale it's really hard to tell without a picture. Aphids suck juice from leaves and twigs, they wouldn't be stripping the bark. The chinese elm may be semi-deciduous in your area, but it will replace leaves periodically.
