I have to repot an old Black Pine. It has been in the present soil about 4 or 5 years. Are there any tips or advice that I can have? The tree is in good condition but the soil is compacted and tired!

Just be careful and don't be too aggressive. I like to use chopsticks as opposed to metal root hooks - softer - less damage. If the old soil is really compacted, don't bare root in one repotting, do about one-quater to one half now and the rest in the next repotting. Alternatively, if you don't want to risk the partial bare-rooting, at least "poke" some holes through ther compacted stuff to allow space for new roots to grow. Make sure you use well draining soil with little or no organics. JMHO.
