Leaf Color Changing On Satsuki
Hi,
I have a number of different Satsuki Azalea's and they are all showing signs of leaf color change. Some have gone very very dark green, some red, some yellow. I am in zone 5 Hudson Valley New York. We have had some cold weather mid 30's for a few nights, but generally it is in the 50-60's and mild. Aren't Satsuki's Evergreen? Is this normal? Overwintering info from others in my zone. Thanks Robert |

Robert,
it's quite normal for satsukis to change colour in the fall, some of them actually have a very nice fall colour, red, brown, orange, even yellow, I have a lot of them. You shouldn't have any problems with them unless they freeze, which can be fatal. Regards. Attila |

...I forgot to add,
the leaves will stay on the plant untill springtime, when the new leafs come out. At that point the old leaves will fall off. Attila |
