Hey girlfriend Your good lookin' avatar guy is worth saving this tree for. Please thank him for his service. My sweet hubby was Navy, a gunners mate. He's out now, but I remember what the long days were like when he was out to sea.

Keep your chin up, and we'll help you if we can. And pm me privately if you ever need a little support. Some days are easier than others.

Joanie

is it okay to completely cover my tree with a bag or just the soil. I need to dry it out. I live in a commnity-type area at my college and whoever waters the flowers under teh tree where I keep my bonsai, keeps watering it. so I need to dry out the soil. how can I do that without moving it?
thanks.
Also, is it okay to take it out and check for rotting roots? and whatdoes rotting roots look like? and do repot after I take it out and check for rooting roots, or just replace it back inthe the pot?

Thanks!

Rotten roots are usually black and mushy--sometimes they stink. They should be removed but don't go doing that without getting some advise on how to do so. As to location, you will have to figure that one out. Bagging the tree will keep it from getting additional water but will not allow it to dry out, it needs air circulation.

I would put a sign on it, requesting that it not be watered. Someone thinks they are doing you a favor, when in fact they are doing the opposite.
