Quotes not quoting name!!

Okay, could someone explain to me how the quote feature incorporates the posters name? I've been using the Quote feature, but I cannot figure out how it works to include the name of the poster I am quoting.

I am copying the relevant text from another post, then pasting it into the reply window, then selecting it, then clicking the "quote" icon. I've seen others use this function and it includes the name of the person they are quoting. It doesn't work for me.

Gday Bgw!

When U hit the Quote icon, you will notice that the text to be quoted has [QU*TE] and [/QU*TE] wrapped around it. If you place "=Username" after the first QUOTE, the Username will be listed as the the original poster.

[QU*TE=FlyBri]Blah blah blah...[/QU*TE] would give you:

Alternately, if you want to quote somebody in the same thread, all you need do is hit the Quote icon at the bottom of the given post, and you will automatically be taken to the Advanced Reply page where the Quotation will already be formatted for you. Edit the words within the quote to make your point.

Good luck.

Hi FlyBri,

Thanks, I missed the "Quote" icon at the bottom of the post. Left eye dominant? Anyway, right on both counts, I think I've got it now!

Testing, esting, sting, ting, ing, ng, g...
