The difficulty is that not everyone has popup capability, either because they have Javascript disabled or they are running adbuster software. There are ways around this of course - and it's certainly possible to make the attachments open in a new window by default, even if it's not a nicely-sized one I'll check into this and see what can be done over the next couple of weeks.
