Thumbs down No Pix in Journals

I wanted to start a journal to log my efforts (and hopeful progress) with my soon to be received Chinese Elm. This would also allow my being able to have a repository for pix when I ask more experienced bonsai'ists to review, comment, and suggest paths forward.

Should I use a regular forum thread for this instead? If so, in which forum? I am still kind of new here, so I am uncertain of the protocols regarding this sort of thread.

adTHANKSvance,
Brian

You're correct there currently isn't a way to directly attach images to your journal.

However, you can create a thread for your picture uploads in the Test Area-51 forum . Title it "BrianP03103's Journal Pix" or similar and we'll be careful not to delete it.

Then you can reference those photos in your Journal by embedding links to the images.

Regards,

Matt

Brian :

After you post your photos to the test forum, use this format in the journal:

[IMG] http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/attachm...tachmentid=#### [/IMG]

Note: I had to put spaces after and before [IMG] and [/IMG] so you could see the code. You will need to remove the spaces in your code.

Wink Thank You

Thanks. I found that I could also use the [IMG] tag to link to an external image, eliminating the need for a special thread in Area_51.

I appreciate the help with the workaround. OTOH, this does not eliminate my original comment. The ability to document a journal with pix really is a need to have, particularly if want to receive guidance from others.

Thanks for all the fish...

Brian
