bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

New Posts not coming?

Not that the New Posts button doesn't work for me, but every now and then when I go to the forums section for a look see, it seems there are threads that I have never seen. Is this a glitch, or did I consume too much aluminum over the years .

Note not a huge deal just wondering.

Bill, I have seen this happen to me as well. Also, sometimes it takes 'forever' for the home page to launch.... I assumed that it was just my connection.

Could be, and like I said not a huge deal for me, but sometime I find a post that went unanswered ,I would have gotten to days before, might save a nervous newbies nerves , or found some interesting posts that learned me a bit of new info. More trying to see if it's a setting or something I don't know about.

Stay warm.

Just over the last few days I have been off the forum for say 6 or more hours, so the "You last visited" says 6 hours, but then on clicking "new posts" nothing comes up.
I have to scroll the individual forums looking for what might be new.

This is related to "cookies" on the computer, but nothing has changed my end so maybe there is a slight bug somewhere.... lets see how it goes.

Will probably straighten itself out.

Regards,
Ian.

slow page

this is not a connection problem I assumed it was a slow server but the internet will get bogged down occasionally that might be it.

Thats it exactly Ian, and it's probably my old tub here, you are probably right on with it'll straighten itself out.

My edit is this - thinking about it I will pop in here from home and work pc's, and the second log in will show new posts but not the ones that were new when I fisrt logged in, so I am thinking that it could be possible that it is a log in thing, not cookies mmm cookies, seriously though I don't clear that junk out as near often as i should.

Thanks
Bill

This is because if you log in and out you are considered by the database to have read want you want of the new posts so it wipes the cookie clean and starts again when you next log in, normal behavior.

Cheers

I use firefox and can have two (or more) tabs open. BonsaiTalk will take almost a minute (60 seconds) while the other tab with various sites loads very quickly.

If I use IE the same thing occurs. This makes me believe it is related to this site.
