In my humble opinion...

HeyHo,
I agree with the others that this is a great site . I am having a hard time though.
I may be brain dead but there is so much going on in this site it is getting hard to manage. It is difficult remembering what the hot topic is, where I posted , etc.
I understand the need to have a bigger better site. But Simple sometimes works better. I dont want to spend hours here. Ive got too many bonsai to water!
What do you guys think am I root bound or what?

Hi bonsainut,

I appreciate your feedback. I was concerned about this too. I think the site changes are basically complete at this point and we will run with what we for some time.

Here is a suggestion in the meantime:
[*]I added a link in the upper right of the page right under where you can get the 10 most recent board posts.
[*] You can find your own recent posts by clicking on your own name wherever it appears on the forum. Then scroll down to the bottom and click the link that says "show last xx posts"

I think that Matt's idea to have other people moderate other parts of the forum is a great idea. It would be awfull hard to keep all these forums fresh, and give feedback to the daily posts. Great job Matt.

Hey Al,

I just noticed your signature line. How did you (being in California) know about corn and pone? And what about pot likker? I thought that was pretty much a southern thing.

Re: In my humble opinion...

Bonsainut,

Here in Mississippi, pone is a piece of bread. Cone pone is a piece of corn bread. Pot likker (licquor) is the drippings left after making a mess of "greens" (greens are the leaves and stalks of turnip, mustard, etc). My wife and I have lived in the south for 10 yrs and I still haven't gotten the guts to try pot likker.

Re: In my humble opinion...

Well I'm a chili lover and in our neck of the woods pottlicker is the stuff that collects just above the liquid line of a bubbling pot'o'chili. You have to stir that stuff down. Maybe you didn't notice my email chili84@msn.com. I have a collection of over 500 hotsauces in my family room. The collection is for sell too. If you know anyone..... sorry Matt. Check out the head on that would ya!!!

Hey, Al, you need a fire extinguisher with all that hot stuff in your house! Hope the convention went well. Post some pix in the gallery if you have a chance

Regards,

Matt

Re: In my humble opinion...

Al,

I kinda wondered about the email address. I admire your taste in items to collect (trees, hot sauce). Are you sure you don't have southern roots somewhere??
