Have To Log In To See Each Photo????

With recent posts I find I have to log in to see each individual picture in a post. What's up with this? If this is a new feature then I'm out of here. It's too clumsy.

Craig,

You have to be logged in to see the photographs; this keeps bandwidth down because it keeps the search engine indexing robots from downloading each picture repeatedly. That in turn keeps us from running out like we did in May.

You should not have to log in more than once per session, though. If you do, you probably don't have your browser settings right. Make sure cookies are enabled; beyond that I can't help you since I don't use Internet Explorer.

Best regards,
Carl

Craig,

In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options and click the Privacy tab. You should see a vertical slider for cookie restriction. I leave mine on medium. That allows me to leave bonsaiTALK and come back without needing to log in again.

Regards,

Chris.

I know what Craig is talking about. If you don't log in to start the session, and just browse the threads, pictures are shown as links. If you click on it, a new window opens and asks you for username and password, which opens that picture. When you close this window, and click on the next picture in the thread, it does the same thing again, even with cookies enabled.

Craig, to solve the problem just log in at the beginning of the session. Scroll down to the bottom of the browse page (or do a search) and it should log you in and keep you logged in until you log out.

Good luck,

To solve the problem***,

1. If you have cookies disabled, make sure you have cookies enabled on your computer as has been described above.
2. If you're not already logged in, login to bonsaiTALK at the lower right hand corner of the forum index at http://forum.bonsaitalk.com
3. If it's not already, go to your Options within the USER CP. Click Yes next to Automatically log in when you return to the site? and Yes next to Browse Board with Cookies
4. If you typically log out when you leave bonsaiTALK, don't.

Now, you should never need to worry about logging in again unless you change computers or something.

***These are all actually the default conditions unless you, your company employee or family member have messed with your Internet security settings or you have made a habit of logging out of bonsaiTALK.

Regards,

Matt

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't realize you could log in at the beginning of the session. I did that and it's taken care of.
