Chatroom
A question about the chatroom.
When I'm in there, the most recently typed line doesn't show up. For example, if I type Hello world! into the dialog box, I see Old Mister Crow: until someone types something else. I don't see that something else, but now the text I typed before appears: Old Mister Crow: Hello world! Does this happen to others as well? Or is it just me?

Which browser? Was Javascript enabled?
I've only tested IE6 and IE5.08768993403803445  You might try clicking the "safe mode" box if you are behind a firewall or using Netscape. The standard mode works much more efficiently with client pull but with certain client restrictions. My guess is it was a problem with that and you were only seeing the text when someone else's push forced a refresh. Regards, Matt

I'm not a computer expert by no means, but I have noticed the same thing in other chatrooms as well as this one. I believe that it might have something to do with everyones connection speed (some are slower than others)and the number of people using the system? I dunno, I could be wrong.

Does anyone want to try and set up some chat dates? We can set a couple specific times and dates. The ibc has theirs on Mondays and Thursdays at 8pm eastern time. Maybe we can get some going in between theirs,because a lot of our members attend that. Any suggestions are welcome, but please tell us what time zone you're in.

I liked the readout on the old forum that told me who was there on a more or less continuing basis as I browsered the discussion threads.

i agree with omc. its hard to navigate to the chat room except from the start page. i like to see if anyones in the chatroom while i'm browsing the forum.
why isn't the chatroom listed in the forum jump option at the bottom of the screen?

Chat status is listed on the forum index as well as the start page now. Do you think it should be available on every page or is this enough?
