Attaching Movies

Hello,
Another idea. Movies. How far fetched is that? Post a thread and attach a short movie. That would be really cool. "Tour my bonsai garden", "How to _____." Or maybe just have an area for video gallery submissions. Am I crazy?

I have posted something like this in the past. There have been short clips in the past here also. One site I visited, I think it was Bonsai of Brooklyn, use to post a different clip every month. I tried to contact them in order to find out how they do it, but they never got back to me. I do know that there is hardware that sells for about $50, and it allows you to load movies into your computer. I don't know how hard it would be to post them on the site. This is the same hardware they use to share movies on sites like Morpheous, imesh, and Napster. I have watched 2hr. movies there. Maybe we can get some members to donate $$ and get this thing going. I would donate. It would be an awsome learning tool for people like me. My nearest club is 45min away.

Are you aware that bandwith cost money? Heck even the crazy amount of pictures everyone post uses up lots of space, I couldn't just imagine what it would cost if everyone started posting videos.

No, I was not aware of that. If I had been I probably wouldn't have posted the idea. But, it still seems like the next logical step. Maybe not now with the crazy bandwith prices and all. But, I predict that one day before too long it will be much more feasible. Thanks for the input.

why don't you load your movies to yahoo ore something like that and then add a link to this page to the yahoo page? Did you understand?

i think that sounds like a good idea,tiny-plant, you could load a movie somewhere else, and poast a link, or some people could poast an angelfire site or something, and put movies on it and poast the link here, to let people see videos, you are on the right track
