Totally Off Topic - Kayaking Trip
I put this here so I wouldn't mess up any threads. Matt, you can take this off if you want because it doesn't have anything at all to do with bonsai. Just wanted to share my other passion.
Just got back from an 8 day trip to the San Juan Islands in Washington and did a lot of kayaking. Thought this was a great picture of my wife and I on a sunset trip on Orcas Island. Wait a minute! Maybe I can tie this into bonsai because with my retirement bonsai has taken a back seat to traveling. As I mentioned quite awhile ago I had to figure out a way to keep my bonsai because I was going to be gone so much. I even threatened to sell our 5th Wheel, get a pick-up camper, make a greenhouse on wheels, put the bonsai in the greenhouse and tow them behind the pick-up. That way the dog and parrot can be in the camper, my wife and I in the pick-up, the kayaks on top of the pick-up and bonsai in the trailer. Might as well sell the house while we're at it... nothing left of value anyway. Carl, sorry I couldn't stop by. We went with some friends and went through centeral Washington instead of up I-5. Would have loved to see the baby and wife (you, too!). Earl |

OK nothing to do with bonsai or kayaking. I guess the only simularity here is that the bass, like bonsai, is made of wood, Maple and Spruce, by the way...

Gorgeous picture, Earl. The tone of the water is just incredible.
I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up this time around, but there'll be plenty of future opportunities, I imagine. Are you coming to the convention in September? -Carl

Thanks, Carl. Love your picture, accoustico. I gave the Cello the old try in High School but it didn't last!
I'm off to Rapid City to see my Son and his family so won't be around for a month or so. Been at the coast for the last couple...it's been a great summer. Earl |
