An easier way for some people who are terrible with photoeditors, and who have XP as their operating system, is to simply send the file to themselves in email.

For large files, XP will automatically ask if you want to resize it and make it smaller.

It then inserts the file into a blank email.

I save that reduced file that is inserted in the email, and attach it.

It's my understanding that when saving jpegs you should only save them once, because if you convert to jpg, save, then make correction/further adjustment, save again, etc; you are recompressing a compression file thus causing even greater reduction in quality. But great tutorial for beginners!

how bout"downloads for dummies"?or "compleat retards"might be closer to the truth for me!
i click on downloads and it gives me a choice,oh i just love choices,NOT!
so i choose the top option and it takes me to a place to choose the closes city for my area,i click on san deago and i get a little red X.
so i clicked on the box in the top right hand of the screen and it gives me a choice or computer types,so i click on XP and i get a little red X.
please help before i lose it altogether!

also i dont understand why i cant just use the camedia master program that came with the camara.
i resize it but it dont stay that way!

Hi Denny,

http://www.techspot.com/downloadget...bfa39b3953de579

If you click the link above, you should get a new window that will give you a direct download from one of the non-tucows servers.

See how you get on with that.

Regarding your camedia software, sorry can't help you there. If you could give a few more details I may be able to fathom it out.

Regards,

Chris.

Matt, I'm still having a problem. I've used infaview but it still says files are too large. I have tried using the sliding button but still too large. Could you explain this further. It will only allow me to upload one picture. Thanks Donna

Hi Donna,

How big is your file?

I think Treebeard posted what to do in that case. I think he wants you to save it then reopen it and compress it some more:

"If the size is over 70kb (push) the slider down a bit and resave, overwriting the previous resized image save. "

You can keep opening the resized file and compressing it more if necessary.

Of course you need to follow the other steps to resize it to 640x480 and save it as JPEG first.
