A vaccum cleaner in bonsai?

Well today i said in chat i was off to sucker my pinus. Not only did I get lotts of giggles, smut calls and dirty jokes, but i had a few people scratching their heads.

When you work on your junipers or pines, are you sick of being stung by pointy needles? Use your vaccum on it. It only takes out the stuff thats dead or near dead with little rick of needing to spend hours pulling splinters from your fingers. Also i found that on junipers it also sucks out spiders that like to live in the foliage and will plump your foliage. My off the record teacher does it before a show and while cleaning them up for sale.

Don't flay yourself mentally when you make a mistake or when something bad happens. Just pick yourself up from the god-awful mess you’ve made, say to yourself "I must make a note not to do that again." and go on to the next step, of the hundred or so that remain.

I was a bit wtf when he told me, but it really works. Just vacumm the foliage lightly to remove the loose bits of tree that you have trimmed or have died. Only on tough juniper types though.

Thumbs up

This was discussed at a Bonsai workshop with Tony Bebb.
Last year as he was helping a enthusiast.
He made the comment that because they Bite so much, he neglects his ones far too often.
I have been using this method on Juniperus foemina for years. He then made a comment about a guy he once saw Vacuming his Lawn.
He swore he would try it I will have to ask next time I see him which I hope will be in Adelaide this year.
By the way it does work well and right in among the foliage. Pup

What type of vacuum are we talkin here? A tiny hand held that only holds a couple of ounces or the SuperSuck 3000 that can strip down a '68 Cadillac in 2.2 seconds

Sorry I missed this one in chat
