AL if you would read some of the newer posts you would see that I have just joined a club with the hope of learning something of the subjects that you have just mentioned. In fact you mentioned them in almost the same order that I did. As to (WHERE TO BUY), at this point I have no need to buy as I have grown my own stock. I am convinced that if I do manage to get a study group started someone with the experience that you mentioned will show up to help, in the mean time I will just have to rely on John Naka's two books on bonsai design. Of course there was also the polite invitation to participate, which still stands. I don't understand some of the things that you say or why we are always at odds. I should mention propagation and growing techniques because this is where my experience lies. Why would I talk about subjects that I am not that knowledgeable of. I will tell you this much, the person who shows up at my study group will have good conversation, good food, good books, good trees, and good pots, to see talk about and work with.
Well this is all speculation but I think that I will start inviting people until someone shows up.

I see it more as different points of view, rather than being at odds. My point of view was there as a counter to the view that you posted. That is just what I would be interested in learning more about, thats all. You mentioned some points I added some points, mine just happened to be opposite side of the dirt line.
I have addressed study groups with most of the people I would like to learn from. Unfortunatly, most have no desire to sit around with a bunch of newbies and prune, too bad huh. I guess a club is all were going to get. AK |

I am sorry that you feel that any study group I may be able to start would be nothing but a bunch of newbies.
Ah Well the doors that you open or close are yours by choosing. Each of us starts out as a newbie. If I am able to get this group started I will endevor to post pictures of the projects that we do. Al I know this truth, a person who refuses to join in does not get to play. Go ahead and stay on your side of the line in the dirt. BUT if you ever do choose to cross over, know that you will be welcome.
