Just to be clear...that wasn't me!
My question seems to have set off an interesting debate. While I certainly know many more things than I did before the debate started, I'm not entirely sure I've settled upon an answer to my original question...therefore, I shall leave it alone for now, think about it a bit, and see if anyone in my local society has any localized advice when it comes time for the Spring workshops.
I have a feeling that this Quince probably will end up being pushed off into next fall, at that point, because I have a few other, more mature trees that will be demanding my time in the spring.
