Needle Juniper Clump
I have a clump of 5 needle junipers, but their arrangement in the clump is not conducive of good bonsai. I am thinking about ground layering the four smallest and leaving the biggest. Then after some root growth I will cut off the old root system and rearrange the trees again. I am thinking of using the turniquet technique to accomplish this. Have any of you guys ever tried this before?
I was also thinking about cutting through the clump to separate the trees, but the roots seem pretty matted together. I will post pictures when I get them. Thanks. |
