Here is a trident maple that i saved from a friends yard. it wasn't doing well at the time but this year it came back strong. now that it is healthier, i would like to work on it. as you can see, the tree needs our help. before i do something drastic, i wanted to see if anyone has any creative suggestions.
the two smaller pics are of the back corners. they are marked as if you were to walk around to that side. hopefully that helps. i should mention: it is going to have to be moved promptly. it neighbor to its left, a magnolia tree, only by 10 feet has been diagnosed with Verticillium Wilt. sadly, the trident has been in this bed for a year. i am hoping it hasn't contracted it. it will be moved to a growing box this weekend and spend the winter in my unheated garage. all comments welcome... |

I think I would wait until the tree looses its leaves and you can get a much better idea of the tree's structure. It looks like it could also use some thickening in the trunk.

This tree looks very nice!
It was a good idea saving it. Has many potentials. Fanis
