I've seen a picture of a fused maple and an elm, both full grown. I went looking for it again, but no luck. It was really strange, two 1 foot wide trunks "hugging" each other. It'ld be a good add for arbour day, "even trees hug trees". You could see the two distinct barks in a line running down the double trunk. Thet didn't seem to mind at all either.
An apple/pear combo would be cool, make sure they grow at the same rate.

Ooh, Washout03, just reread your post, you can't graft unrelated species, the two trees would each need their own roots to survive. You could fuse em though.

right, thats what im doing. i planted each seed right next to the other. they each have their own roots, and theyre already starting to fuse.
