The Cat's Apprentice

The first SUCCESSFUL graft at the Wuggums-En bonsai garden!
CAN I GET A WOOT-WOOT? Dez has been trying for years to teach me how to do a free graft. Finally she just told me to read Jerry Meislik's grafting info page a hundred times. Finally, we have a graft that took! I've been looking at it every day for two months and finally I'm convinced it's a total success. It is now red with vigor! Thanks, Jerry, we owe you bigtime! pootsie |

Why yes, Will
![]() I do love it when a plan comes together! ZW: It took a couple months. If the host tree had been strong and vigorous, it may have only taken a couple weeks to really catch, but the tree was in a weakened state as the result of a chop in August, from wich NO LEAVES sprouted until I finally grafted in desperation. The poor tree is still running on reserves, I'm sure. Only with a couple more weeks of growth (at the very least) can I even begin to think that the new grafted foliage will be returning energy to the tree. So in fact, this is a double success. ![]() pootsie |
