WShat Do Ya Reccomend?

What do you guys usse for tools? I've read that even the cheapest Japanese tools will outlive the most expensive American ones. And they've also said avoid the "shiny" tools. This will be the beginning of my bonsai tool box. What's a good brand, and what's the the best tools to get first? And which tools can be non-bonsai style tools?
Thanks in advance
Jim

If you buy the Joshua Roth tools listed with the owner of this website, you get an awesome guarantee, one which I have not seen advertised with any other Japanese manufacturer. Just about everyone will tell you to stay clear of Chinese manufactured tools. Your concave cutters are one of the most commonly used specialized tools and is a good one to begin with if you are buying individually.
I don't know what exactly you mean by shiny, but most tools are forged steel and tend to be black, a higher grade, and thus more costly are stainless steel tools, and they are shiny stainless steel. But the name says it all.

A good quality pair of sheers will be a wise choice as well.

lol im using a pair of concave cutters i got from an electrical wholesaler. they are meant for cable cutting, but are great for bonsai, and are exact same thing as bonsai ones, cept longer handles.

Wrong!

Unless I am mistaken (Probably!!) the cut is straight, not concave.

Not right for promoting minimal scarring.

Spoon,
Post up a pic of these or a link to them. I would be interested in seeing what they look like.

Thanks
