A Thought on Watering
In the spirit of being a lazy American always searching for an easier way and with a moderate amount of knowledge in hydroponics, I had this thought. I know there are moiture meters for soil, and that are varying opinions on their effectiveness. Does anyone know if there are moisture meters they are electronic in nature, or a mechanical one that can be used to throw an electrical switch much like an AC thermostat? I'm a very busy person that appreciates the little time he can spend with his trees. But, eliminating the concern of forgetting and frying my trees under the sub-tropical sun when I'm running in circles thru life, would leave me more time for other sometimes neglected tasks with my trees.
I'm about to make something similar to a greenhouse. It will have Lexon on top, but chain link on the sides. Its an unused and very well built 7'x9'x9' dog pen on a concrete slap, equipped with running water to it that I have in my backyard. All I have to do is tear off the top, add corragated Lexon and shelves. Whala, a secure grow room that difuses the harsh Florida sun. I just want to work on a nice watering system that will accomadate seperate shelves for finicky trees on both sides of the wet/dry spectrum. Anyone have any ideas on the watering system that may be of help? |
