I've looked at tool sets, but since I have most of the other tools included in the sets, they aren't so great of a deal for me.

heya ive also noticed something...
poor quality or made in china type tools.............either the pruning or cutting tools...
where the pivot is....its secured by a pin with a stopper on each end... (or one end)
the japanese ones or high quality ones.... the pin must be threaded....hence having a nut on the end.....
so when the bonsai scissors start to loosen, u can tighted the nut...
so u can have control over the tension and the tightness of your scissor...
where as the inferior quality chinese brands......u can tighten the tools but hammering the stopper down wtih something but u will have no control on how tight u want it....
