meters???
Is it a good idea for a beginer to purchase meters?? I am talking about water, light, and fertilizer meters

My experience is that they don't work very well. *The problem is that our soil mixes are way too course and don't give a good reading. *You can monitor soil moisture by inserting a chop stick into the soil. *When it is on the damp to dryish side (but not totally dry) its time to water. *Fertilizer needs are monitored by checking plant growth and color. *Good luck. I also think it has to do with the coarsness of the soil, because I find mine is pretty useless when I use it with my bonsai, it usually reads very dry, even after I water it.

I use a PH and Moisture meter, but only when i'm out of chop sticks *
They work a lot better.
