Didn't think you had it in ya, Al, but you've seemingly out done me in the cheapo department! And with matching colors to boot.

Re: cut paste

Hey!

I use Borden's wood glue, mived with the extra-fine soil that is sifted out of the soil I use. It works great, is easy to apply, and once it's dry, bonds solidly.

My question is, has anyone tried gorilla glue as a wound sealer? It's supposed to be much stronger than regular wood glue, but it's much more expensive! And what I use is working great!

Thanks!

Capt. Jack

Re: cut paste

Jack, I doubt that the gorrilla glue would do any better than what you're using now. You don't really need bonding strength for this, just something to keep it from drying out until the wound can heal over.

Re: cut paste

HI Jack, just finished reading some stuff on your web page. I noticed that you wrote that Gorrilla Glue is latex based. Gorilla Glue is a poly-urethane type glue. It is not water soluable. The glue is the same stuff that comes in the spray cans that you use to insulate around doors. The spray foam. It is activated by moisture. I have used PU type glues to build some of my stands. I quit using them because they are hard to sand, foam at the joint which requires the use of a cabinet scrapper, and do not take stains very well. As for the application of using it as a wound sealant, go ahead. You will find that for the price why switch from cheap white glue? I think that the gasket sealer works pretty well too. This stuff seems to stretch better than white glue. Take Care, Bonsaial

For cut paste I use the paneling putty from min-wax.

Thanks,

Re: cut paste

It's a filler used to stop up little holes left by finishing nails when you tack up paneling (which is a veneer intended to simulate wainscoting) It comes in different colors so you can find one that matches the panel color and looks less conspicuous.

BTW, most of the ones I have used (for carpentry) contain tolulene and all kinds of nasty esthers, so I wouldn't use them indoors, or at least don't leave the can open. Maybe the Minwax stuff is different, but some had tolulene and nastyestherol that did a number on your bare fingers. Looks like wood, though, when it dries.

Regards,

Matt
