Question So what's it all mean?

Hi all
I am new at this viewing stone thing and am corn-fused I think I know that:
Daisa is a wood stand, that closely fits the contour of a stone's base.
Suiban is a ceramic dish with no holes that holds a stone in water or sand.

First of all do I have it correct so far?

Second what is a Doban?

Thanks in advance
Paul

A doban is a watertight copper or bronze tray. Bronze is the most common, usually with a patina of age. Most doban's have ornamental sides. The sides of doban's are usually higher than that of a suiban.

Generally speaking doban's are scarce and expensive.

Bonsainut & Sohei

So... now I understand, I had the idea that it was a container from what I had seen in print but the brass / bronse part had somehow excaped me.
Thanks for the time
