Conv. 2001 I
This a stone by Lucille Roberts. My wife and I had the pleasure of talking to Lucille about her stones. This stone is from the south pole, and she knew someone working there and asked for a palm sized stone, but got this monster. Nah.. its not that big, about 14 inches long. She carves all her own dies, and is a jewler by trade.

It's amazing to me that there are stones at the south pole. I realize Antarctica is a continent, but the idea that there were volcanic-looking things hiding out there is news indeed. I have visions of tundra and ice. This one looks like it might have come from Hawaii or maybe a meteorite!
