Basalt Suiseki
I live on the Oregon Coast and have collected some interesting basalt stones from the rocky beaches. These are well tumbled by the ocean and look great when wet but dry to a dull grey color. I am looking for suggestions to improve the appearance of these stones, but want to keep within the bounds of proper procedures for suiseki.
Any ideas?

JLB,
I have no idea what proper means but you could try either waxing them with paraffin or some other such organic wax or actually shellacing them with lacquer or shellac. JLK |
