My long time girlfriend Danielle has mentioned a few times in the past about being interested in pursuing some type of ceramics or pottery throwing type thing as a hobby. The recent opportunity for me to actually really indulge in my passion for bonsai (just graduated college), has inspired her to start looking into ceramics. Since this forum has already been extremely helpful for me I thought maybe I could help get some information to get her moving in the right direction.
With the obvious relationship between bonsai and pot i thought this would be a great idea, and would like to help her as much as i can. Hey, who knows, maybe she'll get good and I'll get free pottery! At this point any information about what directions to go in, or the steps to take to get in those directions would be really helpful. Even stuff as simple as the differences between regular ceramics, or throwing, or whatever else there is... and maybe which types are good for bonsai pots for my sake To avoid confusion, I understand that the art of pottery probably has just as many intricacies as bonsai itself, so I am merely looking for basic foundational concepts that I can use to direct me in my own research. All pointers are welcome. Thanks.
