Ready Made Moulds???

Is it possible to buy, somewhere, ready made moulds for bonsai pots of different shapes. I'm lazy to make them on my own!?

Thanks,
Marija

Hi Marija

I haven't seen any commercial molds, but maybe you could make some. Dale (on this forum) might have some suggestions, I think he started out making slip cast pots

Wow Matt!
Talk about research!!!

Actually the slip molded pots were VERY short lived and few. That was in 1983 and I didn't revisit pottery until about 1998 when I finally decided to get serious. 15 years between making a pot!
Now, it's an everyday huge part of my business.
I'd not recommend the slip casting. They are always too thin or too thick and usually warp. Leave it up to the Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans to do it right! You won't be satisfied, probably. Most of all, you never realize the main pleasure of doing ANY art, that of creating something of your own. All they would ever be is....bad copies of someone elses work!

Regards,
Dale
P.S. Here's a shot from Monday night firing at 3AM just as snow started to fall. By morning we had 8" of snow!Luckily I was done at 3AM and got everything buttoned up before it got nasty..
