If so, I'd like to see a pic of one of those.
One of the atractive things about these would be, I'd THINK, is the virtual indestructability of then. Unlike large ceramic trays or even marble trays, they could take some whacking around.

Dale

Dale, actually these you see are not as white as they look but yes, there are some like granite around. I won't have any pictures 'till the maker returns this summer, then we'll be doing workshops with corian. I'll be sure and post.

No offense intended, but those plastic slabs look like a milk jug found it's way into a campfire...

Made an even bigger one, it measures 35 x about 20 cm, and has a total different colour. It ways less than 1 kg.

Wessel,
The free-form shape you used is nice, but, I'd not spend too much more time perfecting these. I think the sales will be real tough.

Bruce,
Did you ever get any trays or slabs milled or die grinder carved from any of the granite looking types of Corian??
Dale

We're still waiting for the guy who has it down to return. Soon I will be bringing in a ground-layered tree with a 28 inch base so I'll need a looong shallow tray for it. I need to go look at available colors at the counter top store.

Bruce, try asking installers at kitchen/bath stores about cut-outs from double sink counter tops or end cuts. You might get those FREE!

Good idea Dale. There usually isn't much selection out here but what with the frigging building boom it might have improved.

I've made 4 new ones, now total 5 which will go to Irene for testing purposes.

A measures 20,5 x 12,6 inch (52x32cm)
B measures 21,7 x 11,8 inch (55x30cm)
C measures 13,8 x 7,9 inch (35x20cm)
D measures 16,9 x 9,9 inch (43x25cm)
E measures 15 x 8,3 inch (38x21cm)

They totaly wheight is about 5200 grams, which is about 11,4 lbs.
The colours don't come out so good as they are in real life, thats because of the weather overhere.

How do you all like them?

Hi Wes,

I like A, B and E the best, as they are perhaps most realistic in look.
The other two will need the right setting to best utilise the colours.

Good work

P.S. Nice cobblestone paving as well.....did you lay all of that?

Best Regards,
Ian.
