Are these for training stock? If there's an IKEA around there, there are some storage bins that look like they'd be about perfect for training large stock. Problem is, they are orange. I was thinking about paint. There is also an even larger bin in black, not as nicely shaped. Good news is they are $2 and $3 respectively. The black ones are polyethelene. I think that would hold up a couple years at least under UV, but not sure.

I'll do some photos when I get a chance, of the "pots" at least. It is too early for repotting here.

Regards,

Matt

Plastic bonsai pots

This is what I had in mind, very cheap and very effective, I've seen some around that have been aged a while and they actually look like clay pots at a glance. They seem hard to find around these parts though.

Treenut, I suggest you keep your eyes open on Ebay. I checked there isn't anything like what you want at the moment. I have seen in the recent past (4-6 weeks) lots of 20-30 rectangular plastic pots. They were about a dollar (US) each and there was several lots up. Perhaps they will re-appear.

good luck
Jay

But how big? That one comes across at about 2-1/2" wide on my laptop monitor

Treenut, I would look for a source of cheap Chinese or Korean clay pots there on your continent. The differance in the shipping alone would probably more than pay for the differance. The whole reason for choosing plastic or mica is the cheapness in the price. If you find someone, say in the USA that has them, and is willing to ship, you would easily add about 15.00 per 5 pounds to ship internationaly. That takes the price of the pot and puts it in the realm of cheap clay.

There must be someone in that country that has plastic pots.
