You know, Earthgirl was working with some concrete product to do non-fired pots. Maybe that would work for you??

hypertufa pot
Yeah I have made one pot from a hypertufa kinda mix. Maybe I could just do some more of that type of thing. Thanks i'll try to get in contact with Earthgirl about this.

Hi there Zen, in England we have a good network of adult education courses. I took a few in ceramics, where the teacher let me build whatever I wanted, and she helped. I started with slab built pots, then I moved onto free form rock sculptures with planting pockets and some moon rock pots, then the teacher helped me to throw some pots on the wheel. There were plenty of tools and glazes to use also. The course fees were cheap and the cost of the finished articles was about 40 pence per kilo. Try looking for courses like this, they are really great!

That's what I would say too. I was considering taking ceramics courses here at Penn where I go to school, but when I figured how much a class cost, it would've been cheaper for my to get tokoname or chinese pots. But I was looking at area community college or junior college course lists and I think I might take a course over the summer, and they are cheap.
