Made some pots for the first time

My club went to a local potter for a class. 4 of us made 2 pots a piece. Here's my 2.

Not bad for a first try Unless it's the photo, the drainholes are a tad small and might cause problems for conifer species. They would be good for trees that don't mind their feet wet such as willow or bald cypress. If you stay with it, you can save $$ by making your own pots.

Thanks for the comments. GregB those are the wire holes. I made the drain holes standard size for the dimensions of the pots.

Yes, you can ssave money by making your own pots. But more important (and saving money is important) is that you can make a pot designed for a given tree. That is almost priceless. I say almost, because there are several potters here, and elsewhere, who will custom make a pot for a tree. But they aren't in my price range, other than my daughter who gives me a discount.
Another plus, and maybe the biggest one, working with pots will make you more aware of pots and their potential for accenting the tree.
