A good wheel is $800-1,000ish,
and kilns...well, I spent about $5,000ish total setting up my small gas kiln operation, if I remember right.
But electric is much cheaper.

Dale, correct me if I'm wrong.
Isn't it also more difficult to get the toasty brown pots from an electric kiln? I mean with the good results with oxygen reductions on gas kilns, it seems a waste to buy an electric kiln if bonsai pottery is reason for purchase. I have seen some nice looking pots from electric kilns but they seem to be over done with oxides to get darker colors.

Thanks, Al

Good luck with making pots. When you made something, let us see some of your work ...
