You've put an idea in my mind now; a pot made from metal and bolted together - maybe stainless steel with brass fittings...

Regards,

Chris.

cool idea for sure.
or bronze w/brass. etc.
Lemmee know when you get about 50 completed and the price per pot is down...I wouldn't mind one

Heres a couple more of some different clays.
Both are still unfired.
Second one is a fairly large oval about 16".

BTW, I tried some TORX and a few other things and only really liked the regular screw heads and the philips heads.

Same Finished

OK, here are two of the "screwed" pots finished.

I was in a real crunch getting bisqueing and 2 high fireings done before I go to Miami so didn't have time to horse around with fancy finishes on these gas fired two.

In a couple days I should have ones out of electric kiln. If they come out somewhat close to how I figured, the finishes should be kinda neat.

The large oval above came out so nice I didn't want to chance screwing it up, so it is also finished "unfancy"

I hope you like these for starters

Mark, that depends on type of pot a bit, but about 19 1/2" finished is about as big as I'd chance going on a commissioned pot.

If you look close on these shaded screw pots you'll see faint rust stains in the lighter areas below the screws

Dale -

I love these. Not nuts about the phillips so much as the 'traditional' flat blade ones. I am sick that I chose to go to the Carolina show and not the Miami show. Perhaps one of my fellow club members will be headed down there and could be coerced in to picking one out for me.

What is the breakdown of the flat head sizes you will have down there or are these already spoken for by someone?
