I thought I had developed a new kind of rivet pot..but found that I only got screwed

I was telling Andy that I was experimenting with some new types of rivets. Here they are.
These are leather hard pots which I normally don't like to show, but I'm also going to do some different types of finishes on them when high fired ( while I'm experimenting) and wanted to show them before they were finished..

Very industrial there Dale. On second thought, I'd like one with hex head bolts and fender washers.

I think that they look very nice. They kinda have this medevil look. im not sure why my brain is saying that it looks like that but that really doesn't matter. Anyway i was just curious what kind of tree would you put in it.

Excellent! I'll take one in gunmetal grey with rust stains dripping off the "rivets!"

P.S. do you do Allen head & Torx?

Regards,

Matt

Way to go with a fresh idea like that...

Creativity...good one on ya' Dale.

However...these could never be mistaken for pre-industrial age...or even early industrial age.

Matt, You got a step ahead of me there!
Gimmee a couple weeks to finish.

Re: TORX head, yep, I could do that!

"dale- those are really interesting. got me thinkin that there should be some 'iron' banding with those screws. "

If you look at ANY of my rivet pots you can see a "banding" built in. On some with near a complete side of rivets if you look at the top rim you see a "channel" which would correspond to the banding. On some pots I even have a seem where they would have come together, although mostfolks think this is a flaw and I have to explain what I was trying to accomplish. After I give my "Whiskey barrel" explaination it all clears up....then they might even buy the pot!

Regards,
Dale

Pup,
I'll ship anywhere...but it costs!I take to UPS store and charge just what they charge to pack and ship. That way, if it breaks....THEY are the ones who packed it.

Hello Dale,

That's a novel idea! I like it a lot. Looking forward to seeing them when they're finished.

You've put an idea in my mind now; a pot made from metal and bolted together - maybe stainless steel with brass fittings...

Regards,

Chris.
